Bra Stories: Harper Wilde

Hi all!

I’ve been working super hard on this bra project to share with you all. A few months back, I asked on an Instagram story if lots of others with feeding tubes had struggles finding bras that sat high enough that it didn’t hurt the tube.

I took the opportunity to buy bras from lots and lots of companies to purchase the bras I found that I thought would work best for my tube situation, and hopefully others! I also will be sharing a general review of the bras for those without feeding tubes as well!

I’m typically a save the best for last type of lady, but this isn’t Skittles, so I’m jumping in with my top pick first! Because isn’t that what we all need anyway?! So to start us off, we are going to be chatting about Harper Wilde!

One of my favorite things is that they are pretty much the “Warby Parker of bras.” What does that mean? It means try ons with no financial commitment! Which is what I’m all about when it comes to bras. Continue reading “Bra Stories: Harper Wilde”

The Story of Elway

I missed National Puppy Day due to travel, but I’m still going to share Elway’s adoption story!

It was April 25, 2015, Anthony and I had talked about wanting a pup together for about a year. I honestly don’t remember the catalyst that led us to the shelter that day, but I’m so dang glad it happened the way that it did.

We had just moved into our first apartment that was just ours, and we were so excited to make it our own and bring a new love in to join us. elway 1

Tubie Pad Feature: Dorky Little Etsy Store

Hello! Long time no talk about Tubie Pads! I’m so sorry about the delay on those features. Today we will be talking about Dorky Little Etsy Store’s tubies!

Just as a reminder, here’s a breakdown of what I’ll be sharing!

  • My personal thoughts on the maker’s Tubie Pads.
  • A bit of the maker’s story.
  • The materials they use and special features that sets each of them apart to help you find the right fit for you.
  • Lots of photos to hopefully help you get a full picture of what you are purchasing (on a human, front, back, etc.)
  • Price and where to find the Tubie Pads.
  • Lots of other nuggets of info depending on what each maker chooses to share!

This week I’ll be sharing and will be hearing from, Mistie of Washington state, who started Dorky Little Etsy Store! She sent me some super cute tubies in lots of cute patterns (on front AND back!) untitled shoot0690Web

My Thoughts

I have really enjoyed these tubies! They are made with so much love and care, and with the main intention of helping people in the feeding tube community, which I absolutely adore. Mistie acknowledges the struggle of those of us on a disability fixed income, because she too deals with living on a fixed income. So she makes them with that in mind and prices them accordingly as well.

They launder nicely because they are cotton and very durable in the wash (in a laundry bag of course!)

These would be a go to if I was not having a lot of drainage, they don’t seem to absorb as much as some of the others that are a bit thicker. But there are definitely days when I do not need a thicker tubie!

They’re simple, sweet, well made, and I absolutely love that there is a patterned backing, I love details like that! Continue reading “Tubie Pad Feature: Dorky Little Etsy Store”

Photographing a Wedding & A Thank You to My Body

Hi! I wanted to take a quick break from Tubie Pad Features this week to share about a really cool thing my body helped me do a couple weekends ago! I got to photograph a wedding!Thompson Wedding-Paul8701Web

My friend Paul, who was my teammate in capturing this wedding, was really kind and took some shots of me (or shots I was accidentally in, ha!) so I thought I’d share those throughout this post, along with some of the photos I captured from the wedding day at the end!Thompson Wedding-Paul9534Web

If you know much about weddings, you know they’re pretty stressful. Add in being the photographer of a wedding, I’ll just be honest and say the stress is very high. Being all places at once, making sure to get all of the very important moments (which is honestly all of them, ha!) and just the general stress on your body to run around for an entire day, it’s a lot!
