Product Review: Fohm

We are going to take a quick break this week from the bra series and talk about this product that I think is super awesome that helps make the earth a little greener, and your bum a little happier! Meet, Fohm!

Your bum’s new friend that turns everyday toilet paper into a wet wipe!fohm 7

When I was proposed the opportunity to try this product, I was super interested in it because several years ago I somehow found myself watching an episode of a show where they were investigating the sewage system. I remember the man saying something along the lines of, “Yeah, they always label those wipes as ‘flushable,’ but they are not.” And they panned the disaster that was a zillion wet wipes in the sewage system. Bra Stories: Aerie

Welcome back for week two of the bra stories series, where I’m sharing what I learned and thought about several bra companies bras when I tested them out over the past couple of months!

I’ll talk about several things:

  • Ease of purchase.
  • Comfort and fit in general.
  • How they felt in relation to my feeding tube that hits very closely to my bra band.
  • General Quality.
  • Return/exchange process.
  • Overall personal experience with the product.

This week, let’s talk about Aerie, the lingerie store that is owned by American Eagle Outfitters. They’re often praised for their use of unedited photos, and using nontraditional models, which is amazing and I love those things about this company!

I had lots of hope for these being some real winners (honestly I felt that with each brand, because I truly feel they’re doing good work.) But in reality, it didn’t pan out so awesome for me with the ones I tried. Let’s dive in!

I tried on three different wireless styles:

  1. The Real Sunnie Wireless Push Up Bra – in two sizesbrareview-6
  2. The Real Happy Wireless Lightly Lined Brabrareview-9
  3. The Real Sunnie Wireless Lightly Lined Brabrareview-12

Bra Stories: Harper Wilde

Hi all!

I’ve been working super hard on this bra project to share with you all. A few months back, I asked on an Instagram story if lots of others with feeding tubes had struggles finding bras that sat high enough that it didn’t hurt the tube.

I took the opportunity to buy bras from lots and lots of companies to purchase the bras I found that I thought would work best for my tube situation, and hopefully others! I also will be sharing a general review of the bras for those without feeding tubes as well!

I’m typically a save the best for last type of lady, but this isn’t Skittles, so I’m jumping in with my top pick first! Because isn’t that what we all need anyway?! So to start us off, we are going to be chatting about Harper Wilde!

One of my favorite things is that they are pretty much the “Warby Parker of bras.” What does that mean? It means try ons with no financial commitment! Which is what I’m all about when it comes to bras. Continue reading “Bra Stories: Harper Wilde”

Tubie Pad Feature: Dorky Little Etsy Store

Hello! Long time no talk about Tubie Pads! I’m so sorry about the delay on those features. Today we will be talking about Dorky Little Etsy Store’s tubies!

Just as a reminder, here’s a breakdown of what I’ll be sharing!

  • My personal thoughts on the maker’s Tubie Pads.
  • A bit of the maker’s story.
  • The materials they use and special features that sets each of them apart to help you find the right fit for you.
  • Lots of photos to hopefully help you get a full picture of what you are purchasing (on a human, front, back, etc.)
  • Price and where to find the Tubie Pads.
  • Lots of other nuggets of info depending on what each maker chooses to share!

This week I’ll be sharing and will be hearing from, Mistie of Washington state, who started Dorky Little Etsy Store! She sent me some super cute tubies in lots of cute patterns (on front AND back!) untitled shoot0690Web

My Thoughts

I have really enjoyed these tubies! They are made with so much love and care, and with the main intention of helping people in the feeding tube community, which I absolutely adore. Mistie acknowledges the struggle of those of us on a disability fixed income, because she too deals with living on a fixed income. So she makes them with that in mind and prices them accordingly as well.

They launder nicely because they are cotton and very durable in the wash (in a laundry bag of course!)

These would be a go to if I was not having a lot of drainage, they don’t seem to absorb as much as some of the others that are a bit thicker. But there are definitely days when I do not need a thicker tubie!

They’re simple, sweet, well made, and I absolutely love that there is a patterned backing, I love details like that! Continue reading “Tubie Pad Feature: Dorky Little Etsy Store”

Non-Mint Toothpaste Reviews

Hi! Several months ago I did a poll on Instagram asking if any others had issues with mint flavored toothpastes. Whether it be a taste preference, allergy, causing them to feel nauseous, and anything in between.

I’ve hated mint flavored toothpaste since I was a tiny child. I remember closing the bathroom door, running the water over my toothbrush and splashing water around to make it sound like I was brushing my teeth before going to school. Feeling pretty sorry for those who had to endure that breath… But listen, it made me wanna throw right up. The flavor and scent of mint makes me cringe, even at the thought of it.

Hence why I was a-ok to volunteer myself to test some other options available. Unfortunately there aren’t a ton. But I’ve rounded up five that I’d love to share with you today! These are in no particular order.

Let’s start with Colgate’s Strawberry Smash!jen day09887WebYes, this is intended for the younger crowd, but I pinky swear you that when I asked my dentist if she had any ideas for non-mint toothpastes, she suggested this one. And she also told me she uses it herself. So I felt okay including it here!

Taste: Sweet and artificial strawberry flavored candy-like. (I’m very into this.)

Texture: More gel-like than paste-like!

Convenience factor: Super easy! I bought this at Walmart, and could probably find it at most grocery stores.

How clean does it make my mouth feel: 3/5 stars

I like the flavor, and it doesn’t make me gag. So I give it 4/5 stars!

Here’s a link to Walmart’s listing for two 4.6 oz tubes for $7.32!

Next up, Schmidt’s Vanilla Chai Tooth+Mouth Paste! Continue reading “Non-Mint Toothpaste Reviews”
